12 essential UK money words for ages 5-9. Cut along the lines.
Coin
A round piece of metal money. The UK has 8: 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1, £2.
Note
A flat plastic rectangle of money. Bigger value than coins. £5, £10, £20, £50.
Penny
The smallest UK money unit. 100 pennies make £1. Written as "p".
Pound
Bigger than a penny. Written with the £ sign. 100p = £1.
Save
To keep money for later instead of spending it now.
Spend
To use money to buy something.
Share
To give some of your money to someone else.
Change
The money the shopkeeper gives you back if you paid more than the price.
Shop
A place that sells things to people who want to buy them.
Bank
A place that keeps money safe and helps people pay each other.
Work
A job a grown-up does. People pay them for it.
Wage
The money a grown-up earns for doing their job.
